Atal Setu, located in Dunera, Pathankot, is a remarkable cable-stayed bridge stretching 592 meters over the Ravi river. It was inaugurated on 24th December 2015 by former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
This bridge is a significant link between Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh, making travel between these states much easier. It's the first of its kind in North India and the fourth in the whole country, joining the ranks of iconic bridges like the Bandra-Worli Sealink in Mumbai and others.
Besides its practical importance, Atal Setu offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the Ravi river. The design was approved by IIT New Delhi, and construction was a joint effort by various organizations, including the Border Roads Organization and IRCON.
Named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, this bridge holds special significance, being dedicated to the nation just before his birthday. It stands as a testament to connectivity and progress in our country.
